CDCP Enrollment Checklist: Are You and Your Family Covered?

01. Eligibility check — do you qualify?

You qualify if: you filed a Canadian tax return last year, your adjusted family net income is under $90,000, and you don't have access to private dental insurance (through your own employment or a spouse's plan).

02. How to apply

Applications are processed through Service Canada. Apply online at canada.ca/cdcp, by phone at 1-833-537-4342, or in person at a Service Canada office. Have your SIN and last year's tax return ready.

03. Coverage for each family member

CDCP covers individuals, not households. Each qualifying family member must be enrolled separately. Children under 18 can be enrolled by a parent or guardian.

04. What to do after enrollment

Once enrolled, you'll receive a welcome letter with your coverage details. Find a CDCP direct-billing dentist using DrGreat's search filter, book your first appointment, and bring your enrollment confirmation.

05. Annual re-enrollment

CDCP eligibility is re-assessed annually based on your tax return. Make sure you file your taxes on time each year to maintain continuous coverage.
